This is the one in MD, right? If so then I'm going to try to go there on Sun., the 20th. I was seriously considering entering the competition, but Little League opening day around her is on the 19th and both my kids are playing that day (baseball and my daughter's first time in softball). Rats! Can't miss it. Wish the days were different.

I'm going and my good friend is too. We both bought our beads!!! Mardi Gras beads right? I can't wait and have been counting down since we booked our hotel!
I am entering a cake and have been working like a mad woman on it since I just started it this week. I'm only entering one in the beginners comp. because I don't know what to expect. |

My friend and I are going! I am entering 4 cakes in the tasting category (definitely not good enough at decorating........yet) and she is doing 3 decorated cakes plus a wedding cake. We have our beads and we're excited to meet up with CC people. |

Okay, I've got a really, really stupid question: where do you get the Mardi Gras beads from?  Told you it was stupid; but I am serious - I've no idea except maybe ordering them from a catalog and I don't want a bunch of them, just one or two strands for meeting fellow cc'ers at these types of shows. |

Well, Sugar Plum Fairy if you were from where I'm from (Louisiana) I'd say you wouldn't have a proble, finding them. LOL
Seriously though, alot of craft stores carry them. I don't know if you have a Michael's where you live, but I know here they sell them. Hobby Lobby is another craft store that sells them.
