I am making a red velvet cake and the recipe calls for buttermilk. I don't have time to run back out to the store so what can I use in place of buttermilk? Please help me out!

Put 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice in a measuring cup and add milk 'til it reaches 1 cup. Let sit about 5 minutes.

Thank you for all of your help! I knew that there was a substitute but I couldn't for the life of me think of what it was. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
