I am having so much problem when I try to open this site it takes for ever and it does not open. and when i try to open a page it nevers open, and then when I try the second time it oppens.
but the cake central site is worst I been trying since wednesday and I was able to open the site today.
is this normal? |

Yes it is. I do not know what the cause is, but I find it extremely difficult to open the website, even the homepage. It used to be that it would be slow for me, but since the crash, it is nearly impossible. I feel fortunate that I am in here now, and hope it does not go down again soon.
I had tried from 7 AM yesterday, until late in the afternoon, to get into the site so I could declare the winner in the Cake Throwdown, but met with messages claming my server could not find the webpage I was looking for.
I am sure that Heath and Jackie are aware of the situation, as there is at least 1 message posted per week about it, and that they are working diligently to resolve it. We will just have to be patient and wait for updates, which they do provide us from time to time.

I have never had trouble getting into CakeCentral before. But now.......yeesh!
I just let my puter load the page for the last 1/2 hr while I was doing something else. It finally worked! This is crazy slow since the database crash.
I hope it gets fixed soon.  |

I've been having loads of trouble too! The worst is when the page keeps refreshing/reloading, I'm guessing it's to refresh the ads, but when it does that most times it just bounces me completely out of CC. I've also learned to never use my "Back" button because it doesn't work on CC anymore. This is the first time that I've been able to view anything on CC since Thursday night! I had to go to one of the other cake forum sites to find the info I needed for a project on Saturday...not fun at all!!
I'm glad to be back on here, if even for a few minutes! I've missed everyone!  |

If the hosting company they are using actually gets people to pay for their services... maybe I am in the wrong biz.  |

My problem is after about 10 am until about 11 pm. Since Thurs I've not been able to get on. When I do, I don't want to quit looking at pics b/c I know when I come back I won't be able to view them until the night. I've never had this problem until Thurs. (It has been slow, but now I can't even get to the site) |

Same story as above....takes forever to load & thats if the server is found  During the day it is impossible, I seem to have better luck at night but I am way too tired to invest any serious time going through the forums and pics I'm sure that they are working on it and I have hope it will be fixed soon. |

Me too! I can log on in the mornings, but thats it. I don't have any luck in the afternoon or evening. This is the first time I've been able to get on at night in a while. |

It's probably slow because of all the people at work who eat lunch at their desks then sneak onto cc then hunch over their monitors and cruise there until quitting time. LOL
Just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Evenings are hardest for me. Seems like I get on better in the mornings then it drops off thru the day. I click a page and go do something. It either loads eventually or times out. Oh well, just have to be patient since we can't do a thing about it. I don't know of any other cake forums. Maybe I should just keep it that way. |

Yeah, i'm on! I have been trying for 2days now and I can't believe that I'm on now. I needed a recipe so bad yesterday and the day before but no success with getting on here. I hope that the problem is resolved realllllyyyyyy soooon because I miss CC for sure!! |

I thought it was just me. I just try to go on late. About midnight or after since most people are sleeping. I don't work so it's not a problem for me. |

its been like this for me for days .if it works ,maybe for a while .the first time loged on to this site ,im sure every one saw the warning sign ,site is highly addictive ,we love this place so much we have to be pacient.im sure they are trying their best to make it run smoothly.
another thing i noticed is the advertising it just keeps loading ,when you hit the back button it wont work .i just pull down the tab and skip all the advertising .i too miss cc when its down

Yes, Linda, I also have trouble with the back button. I end up going to the top of the page, and re-entering the site from the homepage.
