Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share about a class I attended. There's a new place in Glendale that teaches awesome gumpaste flowers. I stumbled into their website www.petalcrafts.com and browsed on their really nice looking gumpaste flowers so I tried and attended a class.
I had a blast! All their flowers look very realistic and the details were unbelievable. Those who are tired using the really boring gumpaste flowers available should check out this website. I know they also give free demos. Their class schedule is posted on the site.
Thanks! |

Is this a normal charge for classes? Which class did you take tulip27f? Looking forward to seeing some of your flowers & happy you enjoyed the class. |

Shirley,
As CC's resident gumpaste flower Guru / Goddess, can your recommend any books or DVDs for us?
I tried to find the book called "A Bakers Dozen" on Ebay, Amazon, etc. but had no luck.
Thanks for any advice! |

Hi!
The shop sells instructional DVDs on line. I think it sells for $40 bucks. Look at their website, www.petalcrafts.com/instructionalvideos.html I prefer hands on that's why I enrolled.
I tried to look for other gumpaste classes but couldn't find any besides the Wilton class. The flowers that they make are so life like. I'd say it's comparable to the ones that Ron Ben Israel makes. I know Caljava is conducting a class with him sometime next year and the class fee is around $800! I thought it was too much? |

Lovely flowers. I am excited because Jennifer Dontz is coming to N.Cal. in November to teach a gumpaste flower class and one of the flowers will be Alstromeria which is one I have never done. Yours is beautiful. |

tulip27f,
Your flowers are unbelievably realistic! Even more unbelievable is the fact I purchased that DVD online nearly 3 months ago and have yet to view it! I know what I'll be doing this weekend! Thanks for sharing. |

These are so beautiful! The ones I make look like globs of gumpaste. Thank you for turning me on to their website. I think I may ask for their dvd for Christmas.
We will be moving to the DC area in late December and was wondering if anyone knew of anyone up there who gives classes?
Again, thanks for letting us know about the dvd's! |
