I have to make a farm themed cake for my nephew. I used leaf green for the grass, but it's too bright...how can I make it darker?

thanks so much!

Ahhh, I JUST ran into this very same problem last week! I added some Juniper green to it and it was just fine. It turned darker on me as it sat a bit too.

I add the tiniest touch of black when I want things slightly darker. Good Luck!

If you have a color that is too bright you should add some of it's complimentary color to it. If you look at green on the color wheel you will see that red is it's complimentary color.. add a little red to it.. it will make it less bright without making it muddy like adding black can do. Very Happy

Another thought is a little brown. Red & Green make brown so brown is a decent alternative to red.
