In 2 weeks i am making my daughters 1st bday cake. I want polka dots and stripes and of coarse a loop bow. Last week my daughter started saying "quack quack" when she sees ducks ao now i want ducks on the cake too. i have molded 2 fondant ducks (mom and baby) that I want to put on the cake or cakes, how can i do this w/o it looking mismatched. The cake will probably 2 tiers. 1 thats 6 inches (2 cakes stacked) and the other 10 inches( also 2 stacked), she will also have a smash cake. The smash will have a candle and the big cake will have a number 1 on top.

this shouldn't be a problem, polka dots & stripes will be a neutral background.
Put strips around the 10" and dots on the 6". You could put a bow on the middle and the ducks on top either holding or standing with a #1.
The ducks could have little bows or party hats w/dots (see my pic).
Or the mom duck on top of 10" or top of 6" and baby duck on the smash cake.
You can make little chocolate ducks in different colors to match the cake colors.
You can float a rubber duck in a punch bowl.
rubber duckies come in all kinds of colors now (check the Dollar Tree) also look up "Oriental Trading Co." they have really cheap party supplies & a line of rubber duckies in colors & costumes (hat, bow tie, bridal veil) I have ordered from them many times and it has always been very quick.

Here's one I made with a rubber ducky on top. You could put the stripes on the bottom tier like marecip said.

I love the little flowers on the cake, it's so pretty. Thank for your advice
