I am a novice baker whose very demanding toddler wants a Hello Kitty cake for her 3rd birthday. I know that Wiltion does not sell a pan, does anyone? Or is there another pan that can be modified? Any help is much appreciated!

Wilton has a pan called "Animal Crackers" that I think could maybe be modified into the Hello Kitty face. (It is on pg. 157 of the new 2008 Wilton yearbook also follow this link to view if you are unfamiliar with the pan: http://www.wilton.com/recipes/.....atcake.cfm ). This link shows it in use as a cat, with instructions! With a little modification from these steps, I think your toddler could be very happy!

Hi,
I made a Hello Kitty cake for my daughter and just baked a regular old 13x9 and cut off the corners to get that wide head that she has and then used two of the pieces I cut off as the ears. It turned out great and was very easy. It's posted in my photos (don't know how to post a link) if you want to see how it turned out. Good luck!

Cambo did a GREAT Hello Kitty cake that I re-created for my nieces birthday with cupcakes (in my photos). She has the directions for her cake with the picture:

You could do one like this...

I just did a hello kitty fondant cut out on top. And you could do spots or stripes or flower cutouts on the sides. This was really easy and you don't have to do it tiered if you don't want to. It would be cute in a single if you had maybe a couple colored stripes and then did a couple colored flowers on the stripes.
