I have a small gripe about the cake central galleries. Don't get me wrong, I love how fast the images render with the new cake central. But, it seems that when I upload images, the thumbnail of my image in the galleries show my cakes at such a poor angle! For instance, I made a baby shower with a teddy bear on top. The thumbnail shows only the bears feet! I made another cake with a bride and groom an eiffel tower decor. The thumbnail makes my cake look terrible. Is there a way we can specify what the thumbnail looks like or can we just show the whole cake like the galleries used to??

if you want your thumbnail to look good, I would recommend cropping your photo into a perfect square. This will increase the chance that the automatically generated thumbnail will look like the larger image.

We are definitely sticking with the current thumbnail system. In the future it might be possible to ad a feature to control which portion of the image is made into the thumbnail, but for the time being it will have to remain "as-is" while we are working to update other parts of the site.
