I am making a 3 tier stacked wedding cake, white buttercream icing.

The bride's colors are sage green and pink and she would like them incorporated into the cake somehow. Not a lot, just somehow tied in.

Everything I can think of seems to be too stark against the white cake. I thought I'd like to make a buttercream rose topper with pink roses and sage green leaves. But then it seems like the whole rest of the cake will be so white.

I thought of green ribbons, but then it's not such a white cake like she wanted.

How would you incorporate pink and sage green into a white cake? Any ideas?

You can add a single flower and leaf to severl other spots on the cake,
but a flower topper and the remaining cake in white, usually looks fine.

What about a ribbon around each tier in the brides colors?

That's what I was thinking! Find a ribbon that has both of those colors in it and have topper with pink flowers with the green leaves.

This must be a new popular color combo as I have a bride in August that has these very colors! Thanks, Doug!! What would we ever do without you?? I don't want to find out!!

If I have the right color shade in mind. Which is cool dusty green? and the right shade of pink. I think a 1/2" ribbon on top rim of cake and a wider ribbon on base of cake with random dusty green vines with little pink cherry blossoms would be good depending on the age of the bride and personality. Hopefully this will get the creative juices to flowing.

I just wanted to let you know that when I read the title I said "OOH... That's so pretty!" out loud to my computer. I can't wait to see pictures.

Yeah, me too, lol!

Especially since it's my first wedding cake!

Well, at least I'm not charging for it, it's a gift, so they'll have to take what they get! HAHA.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I love the ribbon idea!!
