Would anyone that had created a hamburger cake be willing to share their directions with me? The cake would be buttercream only, no fondant. Need to do this by tomorrow night since we are leaving for a family vacation on Sat.

Thanks!!

Do you mean using the Wilton Cheeseburger Pan? Like this one?

I've made one and made from 8" round pan I made two of the layers with yellow cake mix..and one with Chocolate brownie mix representing the burger....When theyellow cake browned and i let it have a slight hump in the center to look like the top bun.. Then i just colored icing and used different tips ..green ruffle for lettuce..red for tomatoe ..white thinned icing for mayo..and yellow for mustard.. When i finished it really did look like a hamburger cake..

The way I do them is I bake 2 round cakes and 1 cake in a glass oven proof bowl (from the recipe that I've seen, they recommond using pound cake to make the cakes). After they are baked, frost one round cake in a tan/carmel colored frosting. Top it with the 2nd round cake and frost it in chocolate and cover it in crushed oreos. Top that with the dome cake and frost with the tan/carmel frosting. You can use different candies to represent the toppings. Orange Airheads make great cheese for the burger (you just need to take them out of the cake prior to cutting the cake because they don't cut well).
