We are hosting a 50th wedding anniversary party for some relatives that will be visiting from Ireland. Is the Irish monogram the same as the US - ie: womans first initial, last name initial, mans first initial.

So if the couple is Susan and Bob Jones it would be SJB?

Thanks!

I have no idea, but if they look puzzled, maybe you can explain that's the custom for monograms here.

I'm pretty sure it's the same as it is here, but if you are in doubt, here's a cool website you can go to and browse around:

I'm sorry I can't help with this one either, but can't wait to see your finished product. I love anything celtic. If you don't find out about the monograms, maybe you could do their family crest. there are a lot of websites with those on them.

good luck!

To my knowledge, which is a bit limited, it is the same....maybe repost the question with a call-out to the European posters. Smile

Azterp ...... as a 36 year old Irish woman ..... I can safely say that I have never come across a joint monogram at any celebration or 'do' back home!!!!!! I can also say with almost 100% certainty, that your relatives will be DELIGHTED with any monogramed (or, in fact, any) cake you make for them, it's bred into us from an early age!!!
