Do you add anything like gumtex to them to harden? Do they need it?
Do they get soft after a while? How far in advance do I need to make them for a cake?

Thanks for the help. I've never made these and want to make some for a cake in May.

I've made them and I don't add a thing. In fact I don't even use a cutter, I just use my finger and flatten out a petal and then attached each petal one by one.
