I was just surfing around recipe sites, and ran into THIS.....
Now I know we are not pros or anything, but this gal IS, and is telling anyone that will listen how to frost a cake....... I would be ashamed ! The bakers on this board are a MILLION times better... even the beginners !

She maybe just did it as a quick tutorial. I admit the end product could have been smoother (this is always a problem for me - no matter what method), but all in all, it was a decent explanation.
I agree that many people on CC are very talented, I think a good number of people here could take on the pro's and win! |

I'm always looking for ways to make my icing smooth - however, I think I'm too hard on myself cos mine look nothing like that! |

That really was pretty bad. I thought when she did the crumb coat that things were looking pretty good, but then that last picture was terrible. Let's hope it was some unfair editing or time constraints!! |

To me it looked like she did everything on the opposite side of the cake from where she was standing. Probably so the camera could get a good shot at what she was doing, but I don't think she really saw what she was doing. Maybe that's why. JMHO. |

Come on guys, be nice! Remember, she was probably a nervous wreck. You could tell her hands were shaking. I would think that had a lot to do with the outcome of her cake. Also what if she's a member on here??? I'd hate to think that we would slam each other like this!!!! |

My heavens. Well, at least she has made an effort to help people learn a really enjoyable activity... and that's a nice thing to do! |

She acted to be more of a student than a pro. Her voice was strained & her hands were shaking from her being nervous. It could be that her calling is cooking/baking not decorating. I know. I know. If she's going to do a tutorial, her stuff should look better. That could very well had been a bad day. I'm not going to be ugly, because I don't want someone to say that about my stuff. |

Do you think that one of us should tell her about rotating cake stands? LOL
My teacher taught us a much easier & faster (not that I'm fast - or easy for that matter) way than what she is showing.
I hope that maybe they will 'update' the video with a better technique. |

With the editing that was done she could have at least smoothed it out before she did the border video. what a mess! |
