I love the look of a neatly iced cookie but have never attempted to do this. How do I achieve that perfect outlined look and what recipe do I use for the icing? Thanks!

Antonia made a tutorial on this topic. You can find it in the articles section

Hi,
Click on the 'articles' tab and look for an article called How to bake and decorate cookies. It is an excellent tutorial by Antonia74.
I have also covered cookies with a thin layer of fondant. Just use the same cookie cutter you used for the cookie. You can put the fondant on when the cookies are still warm right out of the oven or you can brush them with a very little bit of corn syrup or piping gel. After covering with the fondant you can royal icing or a glace icing to decorate.
I like Toba Garrett's glace icing because it does not get too hard but you cannot do things that require a really stiff icing.

Thanks, Y'all! What a great tutorial. I also like the idea of a thin layer of fondant on a warm cookie. Can't wait to try this!
