Arizona Cake Show Goto page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5  Next      CakeCentral.com Forum Index » General Author Message KimAZ Forum Fanatic Joined: Mar 17, 2005 Posts: 1136 Location: Gilbert, AZ Birthday: Nov 13 Posted: Sun Feb 04, 2007 2:25 pm  Hi Everyone, The 2nd annual Cake and Sugar Art show of Arizona was held yesterday and my cake won BEST IN SHOW!! I can NOT beleive it! I am blown away and so very thrilled I can't even tell you!!! I also won 1st place in my division too which was awesome! I was hoping for at least at good as I did last year which was 2nd place so this was even better. There weren't as many enteries as last year so that was a bit dissapointing but it was still fun. There are two cake clubs here in the Phoenix area so both clubs did big display cakes. There were two big gingerbread houses on display and there were several other display cakes done by professionals. One club's members did demos all day and held raffles too. The cakes were turned in on Friday for closed judging. Then the show was on Saturday. The medals had been placed beside each winner's cake. At the end of the show the winner's names were announced as was the people's choice award and Best in Show award. I tell ya, when I heard my name called I looked at my daughter in shock and said NO WAY!! They told me that they chose my cake because it was all handmade with no molds, cutters or other decorations ( assuming they meant plastic or ribbon accessories) and that it best represented the theme of the show, " On The Move". I'm thrilled! I am going to share all the photos from the show in the albums too. Thanks for letting me brag!
