Hi everyone! I plan on making cupcakes, cookies, and goodies for my husband's clients for X-Mas and putting them in a pretty basket and wrapping them. OK, he says why don't you attach flyers or business cards so that if they want they can place orders?
I am really NEW at this, and have baked my stuff at home, no license or anything, in fact haven't done any actual orders. Here's the question, can I do a brochure with say a price list and the items I offer and can that brochure have the "business name" I will be using? Say, "Goodies by Naty", to place an order call ______ phone number. We offer the following items:_____prices______.
Does this name have to be registered or something first? or can I just start this way? Do I have to legally do something before I do brochures listiing my goodies?
Thank you,
Naty |

Yes, unfortunately...to advertise you must have a license. I understand Florida (my beloved vacation spot) is among the hardest states to approve licenses. I think word of mouth is a good start. If they like it, they will find out where they can get it!
Good Luck! |

You may be able to put your business name & phone number on a business card, but I wouldn't put pricing info under any circumstances. |

I read another tip on here that might work for this.
Instead of doing any business name, just put
Prepared and Packaged by Naty
Phone number
With maybe a picture of a cake or candy etc... on it.
This should be an indication that they can call you. However you are not advertising a business, if you are not licensed.
There is a business around here that does gift baskets and they send the baskets with their business cards attached around the bottom of the handle on one side. Then on the top where they wrap the whole basket up, they have another card stating who it is being sent to and from. I hope this helps.
Hope this brings more business for you! |
