I totally cracked up laughing!! LOL Not at your site, but at me not realizing it wouldn't be in English!!!
As for giving help when not solicited . . . I think I would leave it alone. |
cakes47...thanks, the gesture is with counts... |

So now I’ve been contemplating (a million times) in my head over everything that could possibly go wrong/right with this situation. I keep thinking that certainly family members of this person have visited the website also. Why hasn’t anyone brought this to his or her attention? Is this person not the type of person you would want to point something out to? |

Okay, you got me curious. If it's my site then I would like to know. I know that I would appreciate it if someone from Cakecentral Pm'd me an let me know. I feel like we're all family here and I would appreciate it. I type so fast sometimes that I do have typo errors.

I get the ribbon for the worse speller.
If someone pointed out misspelled words on my web-site I would be happy.
But, if someone told me I misspelled writing a post I would think that's rude. I know I can't spell and I am not going to look up every other word when writing a post.
But, my website is another story, I need that to look professional |

LOL -you are soooo right If it should be my site, I would be very grateful, if someone is telling me. I double checked and several members here helped me, to get rid of the mistakes when it was new. |

You're all cracking me up right now with all of the "is it me?" In truth, I wish the person would see this post and either offer their opinion or check their site like it seems everyone else has.
I'm sure that I'm not alone in feeling like we're all kind of a family. A family made up of cake addicts, but a family nonetheless. I’m sure that’s why this is weighing so heavy on my mind. Like you, I only want the best for my fellow CCers I think I’m going to just pm this person and in the nicest possible way make them aware of the situation. If the shoe were on the other foot, I would much rather a fellow CCer point it out to me vs. a potential customer. Wish me luck! |

I'd appreciate that gesture.
Plus, the owner of the website probably already saw this thread and they'll know that your intentions aren't bad. |

I definitly think you should let them know, might want to first point out something positive about the site, then mention by the way I noticed, blah, blah, blah.
I'd want to know, esp. if it is a site for customers. |

I haven’t read all the replies so some one else may have suggested what ‘m about to. I would just pm and start by telling the person you found their website and you think it looks really great but you just thought you'd let her/him know that you saw a few mis-spellings and thought he/she may want to know....you can add that you just want to be helpful and let them know just in case they hadn't caught the mistakes yet themselves. Then end your messages w/ a kind statement again like ..."great website, I enjoyed it." |

How does this sound?
I had the pleasure of visiting your website today. It is obvious that you are working diligently to create an informative, elegant, and well-designed website for your customers. While I was browsing through your gallery of beautiful cakes, I noticed that there are a few words that were inadvertently mistyped. With respect to our common interests, I wanted to let you know about these omissions. You will find the words I am talking about highlighted below. I hope that you do not take offense to me bringing this to your attention. I only want to help and support my fellow CCers Again your work is wonderful and I appreciate the opportunity to interact with you on CC. |

Sounds good, Kylesmom, I don't know how anyone could take offense to that! It really says a lot about the kind of person that you are that you struggled so much with this...all of us CCers are lucky to count you as a friend! |
