Hi! I saw there was a discussion about people not showing for tastings/bookings meetings. Others said they charge for those meetings if they are a no-show. I was just wondering how many actually do this???...and how much do you charge if they don't show??? Thanks!

I do not charge. I only offer either a basic white, yellow or chocolate cake & my buttercream frosting. It allows them to taste my signature flavors. If they want something from my upgrades, I will tell them I have to charge them. No one as complained as yet.
I don't charge for the consultation but I charge enough for the wedding cake to compensate for it. I have only had one who didn't book and one no show in all this time so guess I have been lucky. I ask in our first phone or email conversation what their favorite flavors are in cake and filling, what color scheme they will be using and what type of flowers. I make a 6" sample cake using those ideas, it gives them the opportunity to taste my cakes, fillings and icing, and to see the type of gumpaste flowers I do.
