I search and couldn't find any answers....

Does anybody know how many BC Roses it will take me to use as a border on a 10 or 12 round cake?

TIA
Diane

Depends on how big the roses are, if they are full roses, half roses or made-right-on-the-cake rosebuds, how much green (leaves) you're going to put between them.

To get a general idea, wrap a piece of string or ribbon around the cake. Measure it. If the string is 40" and your roses are 1" across, then you will need 36-40 roses. If your rose is 1" across plus a 1/2" for green leaf spacing, then it's 40" divided by 1.5" = number of roses.

OK - I did the math. A 10" round has a circumference just over 31" and a 12" round is just over 37" around - this is the length of border you need to cover on each size. How big are your roses - mine are usually 1.5-2" so I would need 16-20 to go around the 10" and 10-25 to go around the 12". So if it were me - I'd make a few extra over the maximum so that I had the option of picking the best ones to fit together - and freeze any leftovers.

Obviously if you make BIG roses - like 3" - you need fewer.
