Does anyone know the rules for a home based chocolate business in new york state? I've found a few things online about it but the websites are terribly vague. I have someone who sells on consignment that approached me to do some chocolate work but I'm hesitant to do so without knowing what can and cannot be done legally. Thanks! |

That's what I was afraid of. I knew it was a no no for baking but I wasn't sure about chocolate work. |

baking depends on where you are, you are allowed to do wholesale baking out of your home, dept of ag will inspect, but many run into a road block because of zoning, town and county ordinances, and the closer you are to the more populated areas the worse that is. |
