Does anyone know which recipe cake decorators use on the TV shows when they make their characters or when they are building structures?

Is it the same recipe for just recipe krispie treats?

Thanks!

Oh, cool! Thanks!

I need to go buy some marshmallows! I need to make Mario from Mario Galaxy and Princess Peach.

There was a similar thread a couple of days ago. someone suggeste you omit the butter. They didn't state why, but from my experience it would be too sticky to work with.

However, you do need to pack the mixture nice and tight so it will be solid and work well.

So, it would be too sticky without the butter?

I've never omitted the butter, just used the standard recipe and it's always worked fine.

From my prospective it would be. As it is I use very little butter to begin with. Mostly just to grease the bowl, spatula and my hands.

Just to give a heads up on the rice krispies "adventure."

I made half the recipe of Rice Krispies just in case and I had to use more marshmallow because it wasn't sticky enough. So, that worked. I shaped it to be the head, torso and legs and just the head and body of Princess Peach. I will do her arms out of fondant and her hair. So far so good. I hope it works.
