Have been asked to make a cake for a girl turning 6. The theme of her party is 'Belly Dancing'. I have NO idea of what to do. I haven't replied to say I will do it yet...wanted to make sure I would be able to do it!! Thanks |

My daughter is in belly dancing lessons. She loves it.
They have elaborate costumes. You could do something based around the coin belt they wear so they jingle.
Their music has lots of rythm, so a drum of the kind they use...or any of the musical instruments, I guess....
ornate jewelry for the hair, hands, arms, feet and abdomen
some dancers dance with veils or swords...
It originated in the middle east, so there are lots of thematic elements there...

I made this cake for my final course at belly dancing. Actually I've been taking courses and have taught in the past 30 years! This is an old Esmeralda pan from Wilton. Just to give you an idea. It is in my photos.
