I'd have to say that I'd probably choose to attend the Cincinnati Show in March as April becomes hectic for me and these dates are a little over a month from the Queen City Sugar Art Show --I just don't think I'd have time to create something new with which to compete. I wish you the best of luck with pulling this together!
I'm going to try my best to make the trip. Will this be a competition only ... or will there be workshops and clasess going on, too?

Hi....
Our cake show is not just for competition. I went today, and checked out the Baum House again. I was under the impression that we would be downstairs, but the director took me upstairs, and showed me where we would be instead....It is huge, and will accommodate a great number of tables to set the cakes on..There will be enough space to accommodate vendors, demonstrations/classes....
I'm sorry to hear that some won't make it, as we want our show to be a success, but that is understandable.
I did my best to pick a weekend that would work, but it was not easy...At every turn there was something else going on, there wasn't dates available, a venue only had this day open, but not the other etc....So for our first year, this is what we will do, and see how it goes!
I will get back to all of you as fast as we can get it done! Bye for now.

Thank you Brownie for all you are doing.
Don't worry about pleasing everyone, what ever date you pick, there will be someone who can't come.
Hopefully there will be enough yes's to make it worthwhile.

How about Hoosier Buckeye for a name? You know- like Who's Your Buckeye? If you tie the name to Miami Valley something you can't really change locations as things develop.

Hi, Brownie. I've been out of town. How exciting that you have the dates set! That weekend is right around my kids' birthdays, but that doesn't rule me out yet. I am going to look ahead at my calendar when I get a chance and see how April looks. Thanks for your persistence in forging ahead to make this happen. I appreciate your committment.

Hi all....
The competition rules have been written, the divisions made, and the categories.
The competitors app has been started, so I hope to have that completed by the end of this weekend.
I will be meeting with a some of the committee so we can go over all of this, and then get it posted.
I will be meeting with the building inspector of Miamisburg, so he can go over with me how many tables I can set up, and how I need to work everything, so it meets the regulations, and I have a permit to run this show.
I am working on getting the EIN that we have to have in order to open a bank account for this show.
I have two vendors interested in having space at the event too.
I will be attending a Merchants' meeting in Miamisburg here soon, so I can talk to the Merchants about being sponsors for the event.
So..that is the update for now. I will keep you updated! Thanks...Brownie
