I just have to quote my Aunt Teri:
This is either going to be the most absolutely amazing wedding cake, or an amazing disaster! But at least it will be amazing! |

First - Congratulations!!
Second, my question - Do you want us to mix Ultra White Sparkle and a tiny bit of Champagne Luster Dust with the various colors (grape and avocado). That's what I think is meant. Also, do you want any to be just the Ultra White Sparkle with a tiny bit of Champagne Luster? I just wanted to make sure.
My daughter (she's and I are very excited about this project. She's going to make something too. You are both very generous for including us all in a very important part of your wedding. Thank you!! |

Sorry, I guess that wasnt very clear..
Each color individually, a Grape colored piece or an avocado colored piece,
By adding a small amount of champagne to the mix along with ultra white, when all the pieces are put next to one another, they will all blend very nicely.

Yes, that would be very beautiful!
I update the Info page as well to read:
| Quote: |
When painting your gumpaste shapes/flowers please mix Ultra White Sparkle and a tiny bit of Champagne Luster Dust (included in the kit) to ensure all colors blend evenly and compliment each other.
Each color individually, a Grape colored piece or an avocado colored piece, by adding a small amount of champagne to the mix along with ultra white, when all the pieces are put next to one another, they will all blend very nicely. And Yes, you could also create pieces that are just Ultra White, or Just Champagne.
You may even decide to use multiple colors on the same piece. For example starting with Champagne at the base and blending up into grape or Avocado. |

Thank you for clarifying that for me Jackie!! I actually realised that my question was a little goofy, I should have put grape or avocado, lest you should think I was planning on combining all the colors in the kit, which I think would look like mud if they were all mixed together!! |

Well, um....... unique, at least.
I love the chandelier - I knew it was a Chihuly as soon as I saw the pic! I have been a fan of Dale Chihuly for years. He is an amazing artist. I saw his exhibit at the V & A in 2001, and another in Kew Gardens in 2005, as well as other assorted installations!
Good luck with everything! Planning a wedding is such a PITA. |

Are we dry dusting the pieces or mixing the dust with alcohol to make a paint? I'm assuming it's mixed to make a paint but want to be sure. |

That is entirely up to you.
I was thinking the color may last longer if painted/sprayed with alcohol. |

I so wish I could be a part of your cake, but finances don't allow it (and I have the feeling it might exclude many of your international members too!). I would have to spend $100+ and then international shipping just to get the kit from Global Sugar Art because they have a $100 minimum order to ship internationally. That sucks.
I do wish you & Heath every happiness in the world though! |

I'm very excited to get to help! And - congratulations!! Did you contact the guiness book? Are you going to have someone video tape whomever gets to assemble! I hope so -- I'd really love to watch it come together! I think it could really be fabulous! I hope it turns out exactly like what you are expecting!!
Thank you for letting us all participate! |

First, CONGRATS!.....Second...Count me in!.....Since we already have all those colors....I don't think I will need the kit....but, GREAT planning on your part and I am sure Alan loves being part of this! .....I don't know how many pieces we will get done for it....but, I LOVE a challenge! and between myself and my girls we will do what we do best.....The one question I have is.....Are you including pulled sugar work in the same colors and shapes?....I could use a few more blisters for a good cause..
