I realize there are lots of ways to make a fondant bow but I've had lots of people comment on my bows so thought I'd show y'all how I do it.

Always nice to see a visual.

Enjoy!

Great demo, thanks for sharing. For some reason I never thought to make those kind of bows ahead of time.

Thank you!!! Those are so lovely!

I like the "gift tags" also. What do you use to write in them? Icing or something else? You have lovely handwriting.

How did you add the polka dots to your bow ?( in your photos ) Are they just glued to the finished bow or pressed into the fondant some how ?

LOL Murf. I almost did the demo over because of that but didn't feel like going through it again. lol Didn't roll my fondant thin enough to catch in the machine. Mom2anc, I usually write with Americolor foodwriter pens on the gift tags. Fiddlesticks, the polka dots are just glued on; easier to do if the bow has dried for several days and looks better if you do really thin polka dots and don't use too much glue (water with tylose) (which I've done plenty) or it makes a mess. Thank you so much. I have never been able to get me pleates to look the way I wanted them to. You make it look so simple. I can't wait to try your technique!

farnaz, try doing the middle part much the same as you do each loop, only the dimensions will be 3 inches by 3 inches. After you've pleated the two opposite sides, wrap it around a 5/8" dowel (or dowel of your choice), press together in the back, and let it dry. That's the best I can explain!
