Fiddles I turned my comments on now and I would like to says thanks to you and all the ladies for the nice things you said about the cuppies and the tower.

Sarsi I enjoyed the tutorial on the chocolate wrap. Great job.

I love the cuppies with the wraps on them also. Very Happy

I LOVE chocolate wraps for cupcakes. My son and husband have me wrap a bunch of cupcakes, then they add a dollop of whipped cream on top when they want to eat one. Those guys are spoiled. lol

Hey Lisa!

Congrats on your first day back! I've got one week until I start development/orientation stuff....and about 10 days until the students start. ACK! I am definitely NOT READY!

I am happy to say we FINALLY had my Mom's 60th birthday party this weekend. And it went great...and surprisingly we (my parents, sister and her husband, my husband and 4 kids from age 10 month - almost 5) made it through the weekend without getting thrown out of either our hotel or the restaurant!

The cake came out great! I made a few issues the fact that it was stacked so high...but it held up until Mom cut it and the cupcakes that went with it looked good, too. The flavors all worked out. I have so much to do to catch up around the house tonight - but I will work on getting a picture up tomorrow!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

QUESTION!
Going back over the recipe files looking for something to make, I notice the Dreamsicle recipe call for pudding, but NOT instant? What does this do to the texture of the cake as opposed to instant puddin'?
TIA

Yah, I did find them, but you have to buy them like 5000 at a time online if you can't find them in a local store. I found them at my local restaurant supply store. That's your best bet!!

OMG! Have to share. Played around with stuff tonight cuz I was craving cake...go figure. Made vanilla caramel cupcakes...SO GOOD!

Here ya go for any others with a craving!

1 box french vanilla cake mix
eggs and oil according to directions

Ok...here's where it gets hard to explain. I had some of that vanilla caramel coffee creamer. The cake mix called for 1 cup of water, so I put a couple of glugs (I know...I'll measure it next time) in the measuring glass and then added the water to hit 1 cup.

Mix. Bake...try not to eat as they cool. I didn't fill these b/c I was mainly tasting the cake part of the recipe, but I did frost with buttercream (again...added the dash of coffee creamer) and drizzled with caramel ice cream topper.

Yeah...I horked down 3 before I came up for air. And I wonder why I'm fat. (sigh)

I totally understand...... many years ago, when I lived in Ca (where you cannot buy it retail), I called and hounded the home office of Sysco, until they put me in touch with the local broker in my area for commercial vendors. I explained I was a caterer, and he opened a "will call" account for me at the distributor in my area. I could buy bettercream straight from them, by the case, cash only, at wholesale prices....... anytime I wanted... Very Happy The squeaky wheel gets greased.... Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

hallfamily, if you live close to Ankeny, they have a Sysco's and you could probably find Bettercreme there.

Glad you had good luck with your cupcakes. Mel has a recipe on the files for Vanilla Caramel with the coffee creamer. Don't know if it is the same or not. I've been wanting to try it. Thanks for the info!
