I was hoping someone might have a recommendation on a very fine tip edible marker. I tried Wilton Fine tip (the black is not very black and am looking for something finer) and Americolor Gourmet Writers, which didn't produce the fine line I am trying for. Does anyone know of a fine tip edible marker with a nice deep black color? Thanks for any help! |

Honeydukes - I forgot to ask you if you think the black is a nice deep black. I am kind of blowing my budget for edible markers trying to find a deep black, so I thought I would ask your opinion first. Thanks! |

Glad you posted this. I thought I was the only one that struggled with the Wilton markers. Even though they are fine tips, anything that I write looks like I used a crayon. Not very dark and not very fine.
Thanks for the sites, Honeydukes! |

Yes, they're a good black. And fine tipped just like those Papermate felt tip pens.
The Americolors also come in a 2 pk of black markers. I keep the newer ones seperated in a baggie marked "fine" until I wear down the tip and then move them over to the rest of the markers. These are not, however, as fine as the Foodoodlers (link I gave earlier.) Those are "very fine" points.

The KopyCake pens look good, having both size tips, but I've never used them. They're on my list to get.
BTW, I don't about anyone else, but I keep mine in a Ziploc bag in the fridge. I gently wipe them off with a damp papertowel after use. I worry about food particles. Plus, I ruin the points long before I use up the food coloring. |

I hope they work for you! Too many times I've ordered a product just to be disappointed once I tried it. (Okay, a few times it might have been the user.)
But I just love the combination of the fine Foodoodlers and the Gourmet Writers and I wonder how I ever decorated without them. |

This is exactly what happened to me with the Kopy Kake pens!!!!!!! The tips look great but they are not up to snuff! The colors were not very true at all. |

I'm so sorry to hear that!!! -- I really wanted to get those! And that's really odd, too. They make airbrush colors and icing sheet stuff. You'd think they'd get the colors right. |

Try some black dust powder with a tiny bit of vodka or something and a very fine number 000 or something brush. It works very well . |
