Ok, my first attempt at the pancake cuppies was by no means a complete failure, but it wasn't a rousing success in my book either. The problem is that they came out a little spongy in my opinion. They need to be lighter and cakier to me. I whipped some bettercreme with some butter flavoring and a boatload of maple syrup in it and that was really interesting! They aren't bad... just not a finished product. |

Gotta tell ya-- I added a serving of plain applesauce to the batter in the cupcakes i made last night as was suggested in this thread. (I think it was GrandmaG???)
These are the best friggin cupcakes- sooooo moist- just right- if you want moist!
I was looking at retro bakery's cupcakes- lots of good flavors there! |

It seems to me...if it can be made into a cupcake, you'll do it...LOL!!
Now when they make the pancake wrapped sausages on a stick...do they deep fry them?
Pancake cup cakes sound good.
How about an eggie type cupcake batter, not sweet, scrambled egg type custard next, then bacon or sausage, then more eggie type cupcake batter. |

Applesauce is a great way to cut the fat in your cuppies too!! Sheesh, then it's practically HEALTH food!!
Yes, the pigs 'n blankets on a stick are generally fried. Mmmmm... I love those horrible, naughty, super fattening little things!
Man, now I want to go make some Mounds cuppies. My mom is coming over tonight and she LOVES them! But she is dieting so I don't want to do that to her. |

Well I think the Mounds cc's are the best I have made so far! Now, I just today found the Whopper syrup so that will be next! I have had "houseguests" for a month and its kinda hard to work around and well you know! Takes all my time just keeping the house straight!!
But I have read every page and can't wait to try more. I hate getting 5 pages behind!
Hope everyone has a great 4th of July holiday!

Hi, Cupcake Buddies!
I have only posted a few times--it's our busy season at work--but I can PROUDLY say I have read each and every post on all 320 pages of this thread!! I feel like I know some of you better than family!
I have a suggestion for the pancake cupcakes--they need blueberries added to the batter!!
I just love the whole idea of cupcakes! I used to decorate my kids birthday cakes when they were little, but got busy and tied up with other things and kind of lost my touch. I did make 4th of July cupcakes for my team at work this year (WASC, buttercream with creme bouquet and vanilla frosting and filling. I used the tall cupcake liners and decorated them with 2 sizes of R/W/B star sprinkles and some of those metallic spray/pick thingies in R/Silver/B). They tasted good but were (the term I decided to use) "rustic" as far as looks. (Yes, I ended up with the wrong shortening.)
Next up is a Mickey Mouse cake for one of my grandson,s birthday--he'll be 3 on the 6th. He keeps telling me he wants "a REAL one", in other words, I've been all talk and no action for way too long! His brother is 4 1/2, they moved in with us when he was just a baby, and the other day I told them I needed to get to the kitchen to make cupcakes, he said, "WOW, you mean YOU KNOW HOW TO COOK?!!!" I was a tad bit embarrassed!!
Happy 4th to everyone and Happy Cupcake-ing!!! |

Fiddlesticks or Zoomzone,
I've read about the applesauce thing before but I can't remember...do you add it in addition to everything else or does it replace something?
Thanks! |
