From what I understand (this is my first time), you only need to bring a table cover if you have entered the Wedding Cake Competition. |

I know there are table specs on the MACS website, under the specs. I do remember reading it when I thought of entering. HTH |

Yes, unless you entered in the wedding cake competition, you dont need to bring one because the cakes are set up on long tables by division.
For the tasting, I asked B.Keith Ryder and he said that you only have to bring a small cake frosted or not since they will only take a small bit.
Im going alone again this year and would love to have someone to walk around with also! I felt weird standing there all by myself and stuff!
The evening of sharing is where Nick Lodge, Collette and some others will demonstrate in front of everyone how to do a certain technique. Its definetly worth it if you can go!
I dont have any mardi gras beads so I guess I better head to Michaels! I will be driving back and forth myself, two hours each way. |

Yah, My DH will be in Boston and my 80yr old mom will be babysitting for me with my 4yr old and 2yr old so I dont want to be away all night. Otherwise I probably would get a room too since it is such a long trek!
What did you enter in? I did the divisional intermediate, the wedding cake, the cookie and the tasting. I went a little overboard! I really want to take a class but not sure what will be available then since I didnt preregister for it. |

My friend and I are staying at the Days Inn. We'll be getting in later on Friday and heading right to the Agricultural Center to set up her wedding cake. |

I will be there and I'm entering this year as well. This is my first time entering a competition and I'm very nervous. Based on the requirements I am entered in the Intermediate Division.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you who will be attending. Aunt A you will be the first since you are working the door. Look for the Mardi Gras beads! Best wishes to all those entering and safe travels to all! |

Yah, Ive been living here now for about 14 years and still havent done that trip!! I would like to one day though but I dread driving in DC because the signs are mixed up and the traffic lights are on poles on the sides of the roads instead of above like normal. My hubby got in an accident there because its so crazy! Kinda like driving in NY!!
You will have fun even if you havent entered anything but its not as big as the OK show. I wish it was though!
Jem530, I will probalby see you then on Friday night. I too will be setting up my wedding cake then. I dont think I can get my fat butt out of bed before 5am to drive there in time for set up Saturday morning. |

Weirkd, I'm in the tiered. I'm hoping I can get it done. I want to be in the Beginner catergory. I don't think I'm ready for Intermediate. |
