Okay yesterday I posted a topic (Just a bit miffed) http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopicp-5884660-.html#5884660

So last night I drafted a sketch of my envision of the cake, took it over to this individual's house to make sure that my invision of the cake would be suitable to what she wanted. Didn't hear back from her, so I proceeded to bake and crumbcoat the cake and then put the layer of frosting on it. Then I added an edible image, and so right as I finish getting it all in place, and as I start prepping to do the border...I get a phone call from this person. I'm told "Don't do the border...needs to be as close to a baseball look as possible" - hence no border which I'm okay with...but what frustrates me and irritates me is to have an additional comment of "I don't want the cake to look store bought or professionally made, I want it to look homemade" icon_mad.gif Okay, what do you want me to do. now that I've got the edible image on it, the icing (for the most part) is incredibly smooth. How the devil am I suppose to make it look homemade icon_confused.gif Do you want me to poke my fingers in it and take a swipe at the icing just for a "homemade" look?!

The problem is simply that this person who ordered it, promised a "homemade" birthday cake for a co-worker and when time ran out, I got the phone call...which I didn't mind making the cake, as I had the time, but I don't like the idea that Well isn't the point of cake decorating to go above the "homemade look" icon_confused.gif UGHHHHH!!!

OMG, this lady is crazy. dunce.gif First, she promises something she can't deliver, THEN, she makes you do what she was supposed to do in the first place! tapedshut.gif I say do the cake however you feel is up to YOUR standards. Forget her. If she wanted it to be homemade, she should have MADE IT HERSELF! NOT hired a decorator! Sheesh! icon_evil.gif

I'm curious to know if you took the advice from your last post and stuck in the extra business cards. That would have been too funny.....especially since she's trying to take all the credit. It's one of those times that you wished you were a fly so you could see what happened.

Hope everything ended up okay! At least it's behind you now!

Have a great weekend!
