This is like a run on the bank. Rumors are flying back and forth here. Heath maybe you and Jackie need to post and let your membership know the latest. Is Cake Central closing it's website?
People are looking for other websites and sending messages so they don't lose touch with one another if you do close down. I am sure we would all like to know what the facts are. Should we continue to send donations to CC or is it futile? |

Oh give me a break. This website is not "closing." If rumors are indeed rampant, it's because of conjecture like this.
And if CC did close, another website would spring up and the community would rebuild itself.
Everybody calm down. |

This is why they are called rumors! All talk, no fact. |

Here are my thoughts....and that is exactly what it is ........thoughts!!!! Why would they just spend a ton of time and money to update the servers just to "close" the site (BIG HUGE THANK YOU FOR THAT)!!!! I would think that they would continue to update the servers as funds are received from sponsors, etc. It will be a process that takes time and money (like everything) but will eventually work itself out. |

I am with Deanwithana....Why would they spend all this money only now to shut it down!!!I sure hope not though as I rely on this site Tremendously for advice, pictures, and plain old help!!! It would be a true loss to me!! I would pay a yearly fee!! I do to keep my website up and running... |

Let me clarify something
I asked for emails of some of my buddies yesterday JUST so I'd have them on my email if CC went down again... NOT because I thought CC would close... BUT... you know what.... WILDER things have happened here lately with companies... they spend TONS of money and then SHUTDOWN... SO why do you say they couldn't do that? If Heath and Jackie wanted to they could shut it down in a heart beat... Thank GOD for them and their wonderful site..
But that is what I was doing... Getting emails so I could send quick hellos or messages to people.. NOT because I thought it was shutting down.
Rumors are rumors yest that is right... and you only listen to the people that count... that is why you discredit things!!! |

They better not - I just chipped in some 'lettuce' towards it last night.
(And I STILL couldn't access areas...withdrawal is NOT a good thing)
Maybe a nominal yearly fee wouldn't be such a bad idea. It is essentially an online 'cake club' and we pay dues everywhere else... And our membership could qualify us for discounts at their advertisers...thus encouraging membership w/priveleges!
I mean, what 80,000 members worldwide x $25 = $2 million (American, which currently is about negative three Euros...LOL

I wish one of them would just take a second to send out a post just saying hang in there everything will be fine or something. It is almost like they have dropped off the face of the earth. Does Kelly from cake boss know anything? Kelly are you there???? |

$5 a year per member would be a lot of $ too. I'm not in favor of a usage fee but I'd give a nominal one if it came to that. But I'm sure there are many of us who couldn't. I'm doing all I can this morning while it's up and going strong. It's like a shot in the arm. Hope this means things are looking up for H&J and the site!!
Have a great day everyone!
