Hi I am a new member and I am trying to make an Elmo theme cake in 2 weeks. I made a Elmo figure of fondant sitting on a "building block" The Elmo is about 6-7 inchse but remember he is sitting down. Anyway How do I get the "hair look" on his body? I tried with royal icing and the grass tip but he looked like bigfoot. I scraped it all off. Please help.
Thanks,
distressed

Hi JanH,
Thanks for the acronyms. It's going to come in handy. Thanks for the link on the Elmo. I have the figure sitting on a building block already. I will try to pipe royal icing with the suggested tip from your link. I think it's going to work! This is a great site! I really appreciate your response!

I've not tried it yet, but I have several Debbie Brown books and she uses a star tip sticking it in the fondant over and over for fur and bushes. I hope this makes sense. |

I have used the star tip in fondant for fur and it turned out really cute, not too hairy like big foot! LOL! I'm not sure if your fondant is dry or not already... |
