I've been doing this for over 10 years off and on just now this year really getting into the decorating portion of cakes. I'm fixin to move in December to a nice 2 story house in a downtown area basically next to the fire department but I do have a cemetary across the street from the house as well as a block away.
I want to be licensed, and legit. I want everything by the book and I want to "trademark/copyright" my business name. I do know the court house does the name thing, $25.~ and it's trademarked for me only. I plan to do that as soon as I move so it has that address on it instead of my parents lol
Now what I need to know is the details on becoming licensed in MD. I've read about every other place but MD. Someone posted a very long thread about in home bakeries or cake shops and MD was on the list but I couldn't find the info on our State Senate webbie.
So I guess what I need to know is how can I make this business work without having to rent a space. I want to do it from home, the main reason I started it so I could stay home with my daughter and now I believe I'm expecting again, almost 2 months late, and if I am I don't want to have to worry about getting back and forth to a store, and we won't be able to afford the shop rental fees and all the bills that come with that.
I believe I read somewhere here that in Maryland you HAVE to have a seperate kitchen for this but I'm not sure. If that's the case I guess I'm not going to be continuing my business
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks sweetie. I'm praying someone will come along and tell me I can manage to do this. Even if I have to have hubby transform the shed into a kitchen, he has to rebuild it basically anyway, I'd be happy with that as long as it has everything in it I need lol The lady that lives near my friend used to do this and I believe she was licensed, I know she did the Farmer's Market and I called about that and they have to come inspect your home and stuff and she did that, she turned her shed into a kitchen with two fridges, two stoves, cabinets etc. She just recently stopped doing it about 2 years ago and is now in Realestate. So I've grabed some of her clients but I want to be big lol.
