Hey,
I'm new to this site, and I love it. Lots of great advice!
Now i have a question....
Does anyone know how to start a buisness in canada? Home based or maybe renting a kitchen? |

Im in BC Canada and I rent a church kitchen. Im in the process of writing up a proposal so I can have storage and have a key for acess. I pay $50 for the first 4 hrs and $10 per hr after that. The first thing you have to do is check with your local health dept to see what they require. The health dept told me to check with the churches and see which ones are food safe once I did that they came to inspect it. I had applied for my business licence before hand and once the kitchen was approved they contacted the city to let them know to issue my licience. I also had to go to the Gov. agent to register my business name. The whole process took me 2 weeks and it was done. |

I"m in Alberta. And I'm currently going through the process. AB is actually pretty easy. Here's the steps:
- Register your trade name with the alberta governemnt (sole propietor or incorporation)
1) Contact your local city and find out if you can have a home based business.
2) Contact your local health inspector, and ask the requirements for your second kitche. You have to have a second kitchen that is not used for domestic purposes. This kitchen must have a clean working stove, fridge. Proper counter space. Washable surfaces. 2 sinks deep enough to submerse your biggest pan and a wire drying rack. And a 3rd small sink for washing hands. And it must have a door that closes. Not too bad.
You can also use a health inspected church kitchen.
3) You must get your home operator's liscence which allows you to have a business in a home.
4) Go get your business liscence from inforcement services.
5) Build your kitchen and have it inspected.
And your done! |
