Hello all...

I just got an Apple MacBook and would like to post some pictures of my newest cakes. I'm having a problem though. Every time I try to post a new picture, I get this message "Error: no picture uploaded." I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

This is my first time with an Apple. Is there anyone else out there with an apple who can help me out! I'd really appreciate it! I have several pictures that I'd like to post, but cant!

Thanks so much!

Hello fellow Maccer! My dh would be proud. He is such a Mac geek. I have found that I have to upload my pics when using Firefox rather than Safari. I use Safari for my browser normally but have to open Firefox to upload pics.

hth!

I also have a Mac and do the same as dodibug. Works like a charm. In case you are new to using the Firefox browser here is a link http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/pgcshort/index.html. You can downlod it for free.

just wanted to pop in and say im a mac user too! my old G3 died a month or so ago, so i had to go get the brand new mac book. i love it! ya, it hurt to pay out over $1000 for it, but how can you compare it to anything else?

oh, and i only ever use mozilla as my browser, i like it better. i never have a problem uploading pics, so maybe that is why? let us know if you get them posted!

But for the $1000 you get so much! Apple has great customer service too. We always buy the extended warranty for our laptops and it has been more than worth it.

This is kind of reassuring to read. My PC recently died and I have to confess I was totally sucked in by the TV ads. I do not want to be a fat guy with a comb-over, I want to be young and trendy! So I got a Mac, and so far I am totally baffled by the whole thing. Takes a lot to get used to that is for sure. I have not tried to upload from it yet so this is good info for me.

I'm thinking about buying a Mac PC or Notebook soon. I've been looking for it everywhere, even at Best Buys, and they don't have those on display for me to try it out. I lives in NC. Know any places where I can check it out?

I agree they can take a while to work! My BF has been a Mac fan for years, but last year I started using his some. I bought G3 laptop a few months ago. It's not new, but was only 300 bucks and it can outsurf my sister's new Dell! icon_biggrin.gif
My BF has a new MacBook and I keep asking him if he wants to trade??? icon_biggrin.gif
Anyone got the new iphone?? We don't, we are Verizon users. Our hope is that verizon will work with it soon.

DH and I both have Mac's. He just upgraded and now can run 2 OS's at the same time. That's ok, it took me long enough to get used to this one. I LOVE it!

Your best bet is to get one thru an Apple store. Here is the store locator. There are 3 locations in NC. If you go to an Apple store they can walk you thru some things and answer all your questions.

It is different but once you get the hang of it you'll never go back!

Once you go Mac, you never go back, Baby! I think between my house, my brother's house, and my best friends house ( I converted them both) we now have something like 14 Macs. I have serious lust in my heart for the IPHONE icon_eek.gif, but ATT doesn't work at my house. Also, when posting pics, remember that for the PC world, alot of times you'll need to add the .jpeg to your photos. You have to tell a PC what program to open things with. They're not smart like Macs.

True that Txkat!

I've had my ibook for years and just got iMac desktop. I got a refurbished one from the Apple website and saved a bundle but still get the normal warranty of a new product.

I also have to agree with Dodibug about their customer service. It rocks. We have an Apple Store in town and if its something simple they fix it just at the counter which they call the "genius bar." Also, I just got an Apple AirPort, which is their wireless router and the Apple Customer Support was way better than our DSL helpline in getting it configured and set up.

Thank you all for your help! I'm downloading Firefox now, so I'll let you know if that works. I wonder why Safari won't let me download! Anyways, I LOVE this Mac and I LOVE that you all were so helpful! Thank you!

OK, here's another question....

I downloaded Firefox, and it started to work, until it said that my file was too big to upload.

How do I make my file smaller?

ok...now you have to go to www.shrinkpictures.com and upload your pic, which will take like 3 seconds. Follow the instructions and use the new smaller size file to post on here!

It's really really easy!

Your camera must have some photo editing software. Any such software can resize your picture. Also, you must have iPhoto on your Mac. A quick and easy way to resize is to select the pic in iPhoto then go to the top of the menu bar and click on "share" Now hit the email tab. This will automatically make your picture smaller and attach it to your .mac email. Just drag it to the desktop . When you go to upload it, brown the desktop and attach it.
