Old Time Pottery is a great place for containers for these. They also have styrofoam and some cake decorating supplies. (for people who don't know about this place, they are pretty cheap too.) |

Hey Cammie.. not for nothing, but [blocked] makes custom foam shapes.. their site says "if you can draw, it we can make it!". Maybe they could make an O shaped form that will fit snug around most 4" pots and stick out a few inches from the sides.. might be worth looking into if you are going to make them a lot. No idea what it would cost, but they are so inexpensive for most things.. you might be able to get a square for the bottom too that has a hollowed out area for the pot to sit. Just another idea.. |

That's a great idea....I'll have to consider that!
UPDATE: I went to Hobby Lobby today and looked for the "twirly twig" things to use to accent the bouquet and serve the purpose of keeping the cellophane off the cupcakes....let's just say "WAY TOO EXPENSIVE".....I also looked at larger "disposable" liners to affix the pots to so I can pull the cellophone up over it....and I don't think the cellphone will cover it all....I'm checking one more place to see if I can find a large roll of cello! |

OMG....MAJOR FIND FOR CUPCAKE BOUQUETS!!!!
As I mentioned earlier, I was at Hobby Lobby earlier today and found some wonderful craft sticks and a 1/2 styrofoam ball! The sticks were back where the bags of popsicle sticks hang...and they're only $2.99 for a bag of 750! That's less than 1/2 cent each! They're also shaped "flat" and the cupcakes really hang on well! I also found 1/2 styrofoam balls and they were only $.87 each! They also had a pack of two 4" balls for only $2.47....but that's still not even close to $.87 for a 1/2! I bought all that they had! I just tried it and it works beautifully!
Below are pics of everything....hope you find them at your local HL as well!
Also....I asked the store manager if she thought the craft sticks were ok for food....she called the freak'n manufacturer for me (and after a 1/2 hour wait) THEY ARE! They specifically state "non-toxic" on the package and the manufacturer stated they are the exact same grade as popsicle sticks and toothpicks....entirely safe! |

Nope....just tried a new post with only one pic...maybe there's a maximum number of pics you can post on forum threads? Oh well. |

I found a large roll of cellophane at Michaels, it was $9.99. I didn't buy it; however, they did have small and medium cellophane bags that are used for gift baskets and such. The small was $1.99 for 2 and the medium was $4.99 for 12. I bought the medium and figured that I could just cut it down in size if need be.

Really? Are the bags big enough for the entire bouquet? I'm going to Michael's tomorrow to check them out! |

I don't know if you have one around you but here we have a Dollar Tree where everything is $1 and they have basket bags that the cupcake bouquet will fit in, you get 2/$1. They also have gift boxes, it is a decorated cardboard box but the top is open and a celophane bag is included all for $1. I have not yet made the cupcakes but I think it will work. If you blow a little air into the bag it will puff out and not stick on the cupcakes.
Also, I found the foam balls at Old Time Pottery for $1.79/2 pack |
