Well I am so excited, looks like I am going!! Yay!!!
Will there be vendors, there as well, just like at cake camp? Any new toys to purchase?

We have an issue with selling things on the cruise. Because it is a cashless society, everything has to be processed through the ship payment systems which drives the cost of the items up. Not an issue for impulse buyers!
If the presenters (or any vendors) wish to sell items to the CakeCruisers, they can either pre-sell or offer order forms for shipping after the cruise.
Nicholas Lodge has successfully done this on a couple of our cruises.

Nothing needed for the presentations and for the Hands-On classes, everything will be provided. If anything, bring an apron or your favorite cake decorating clothes.
What about general dress? My hubby and I are going, and my hubby does not want to have to haul 10 bags of clothes, or buy a lot of fancy stuff he won't wear anywhere else. Also, our plane comes into San Diego early morning, so we have the day to check out the sites. We are starting to wonder what on earth we are going to do with all that luggage, until we are able to board the ship. What are us ladies supposed to wear, while not in class?
After booking, we checked on the Holland cruise website, and see that there is manditory tipping procedure, which is not included. Is that true? When is that money payable?
When we are docked for the day, are we allowed to purchase alcohol to bring back onto the ship, for later enjoyment?
We have both never cruised before.... and probably would not have cruised unless it was cake-bated:)
TIA

We will address these questions and more on an FAQ page that will be available on www.CakeCruise.com by October 4.
We still have staterooms available, reservations will not be closed until mid November.

For those who have already booked, well done - you got in before many of the fares increased. We still have plenty of staterooms available in some categories.
For everyone booked, we have caught up with our mailings so everyone should have received a packet by now.
We have had a number of people wanting to book and have claimed we didn't respond until they looked in their SPAM folder. We didn't send it there! Many CakeCentral members did not respond to the invoices that we sent so, please let us know if you are still waiting for anything because we are 100% up to date.

Haha Ruby, yes I will be cruising with you but it wont be a break. I will be diligently working to make sure that everyone else has a great time and that all the activities happen like clockwork. I promise though, I will squeeze in some fun!

Oh, great John. See you there. I was wondering, for the classes, are we taking cake home that we're decorating. Do you know of what sort of hands on that we'll be doing. Just wondering, If I'll be holding a cake box in my lap on the plane ride home. LOL.

It depends on what Hands-on classes you selected but you will get to keep what you make. It will not be cake because we are not permitted to make anything deemed edible. That's a Coast Guard regulation.

So excited! We just booked last night. I can't wait to talk cake and take some great classes!!!
We were actually on the exact same ship (Oosterdam) this summer. Amazing service, great food. We're bringing our 2 kids - they loved the kid's club.
For anyone concerned about clothing and baggage - the cruise line offers laundry services. $75 for unlimited laundry for the duration of the cruise.
