What's the best way to store them?
Make animals (have them stored)-bake cake-frost cake and attach animals???
I am attempting a buttercream icing.....good enough for the fondant animals to adhere to?
thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

Are these 3D fondant animals or flat?

You can make your animals anytime in advance. I recommend adding some gum-tex powder to your fondant to make it more pliable like gumpaste but, it won't dry out on you as fast. After you make your animals you can just store them in a shoe box in a cool dry place.
I am not sure where you are planning on placing your animals. If they are just going on top of the cake then they should be fine.
With a little more information I could help you better!
