Wow, had a crazy chaotic weekend, had 2 3d cakes to make for Saturday and Sunday plus a party to go to on each day, the one on Sunday being held at my house at 4:00pm, plus I had my brother and his girlfriend staying at the house, and the cake my neice asked for for her party on Sunday was of the goalie for the Calgary Flames, Miikka Kipursoff, no idea how I was going to do it, she esspecially wanted his mask with the skulls on it. To top it all off my other neice's mother calls me Friday night and asks if I can do a small 3D cake for my neices sons first birthday and bring it to the party on Sunday at 1:00 ( the party that was initially supposed to be the following week and just got changed). So I turned my house upside down and went to work, snagged my sons friend to make me a pattern for the skulls on the goalie mask, made a fairly simple cake for my nephew, and had a blast with granddaughters fish cake. Stayed up all Sunday night working on Kipper, and cleaning house for the party that afternoon. Spent Sunday rushing from one party to home for the other before guests got there and made the lasagne for it. By Sunday night after the house was cleaned up from the party, when all were gone except my son and my brother and his girlfriend, I sat down and patted myself on the back, decided I needed to learn to say no sometimes, and proceeded to crash out and fall asleep. For some of you pros this would probably be a walk in the park, at least you make things look easy, my hats off to you, but for this amateur 3 3Ds are 2 too many for one weekend.
Thankfully everyone loved their cake and no disasters in transporting, displaying or cutting and they tasted good too !!!
Would love you to take a look at them share your comments, also any suggestions in making things go easier would be much appreciated !!!
Thanks for letting me babble ! |
