I was approached in church this morning about doing a cake for the nursery worker's baby shower. She's having twin girls. Her baby nursery and the theme for the shower is a Hawaiian/Beach "Luau". They are figuring on 75 to 80 ladies at this shower so I need a nice size cake due to the fact that I was told all the ladies would be carrying home cake for their husbands. I want this to be extra special. Could I get some of you "seasoned" cake artists to help? I appreciate it more than you could ever know!! |

Why not do a beach with palm trees, babies sunbathing and swimming, some with hula skirts and some with flowered diapers? Or if you want to do a 3-d cake you could make twin babies, if its a girl and a boy have the girl wearing a flowered lay and flowered diaper hybiscus in her ear and the boy could wear a flowered shirt, diaper and sunglasses! |

Check out the cake I did called "Luau Ducky" and adapt it to be larger with 2 baby ducks on top. The whole base cake was in cevered in fondant and I painted on things like palm trees and sunset etc. Might be what you're looking for... I used the Wilton 3D duck mold. |
