Search on cake extender in the recipe section. The one with yogurt is my favorite and I use it weekly (you can use any flavor of yogurt - I prefer this over the sour cream).

I do this all the time and have been very happy with the results.

Any flavor Duncan Hines cake mix
add one extra egg (almost always 4 total I think)
same amount of oil as called for on box
substitute milk for water - same amount (I use skim)
add one box instant pudding mix in coordinating flavor - you can totally mix and match with this one
Bake as directed

Yummy, moist consistent results every time. Plus, it is quick and easy. Smile

I didn't know I was "doctoring" cake mixes till I read it here Smile

I've always been taught to add

an extra egg
use milk instead of water
use butter instead of oil
for ANY mix

and my son ALWAYS adds vanilla

I'll have to try the pudding

Quick question...I've been wondering if you add the extra pudding to a cake mix that already has pudding in the mix? I have noticed that almost all cake mixes now have the added pudding, so wasn't sure if I should still add the pudding mix. Thanks!

Not sure about Pillsbury or Betty Crocker - those seem to usually have pudding already added. But I always use Duncan Hines and I always add a box of pudding mix...

Unless I'm using another "doctored" recipe like White Almond Sour Cream that does not call for pudding mix.
