| cake boss uses Italian Buttercream for filling and crumbcoating. There are lots of recipes available for it. Give it a try, people love the flavor. You'll love the ease of use. |

| Self raising flour has never been available here and I've avoided recipes that called for it, like the plague. Thank you for posting a conversion. I might get brave enough to try a recipe. |

| I have no idea what you did that didn't work, but try again. Check the temperature of the oven. Looks like a fabulous cake. |

| I've kept RI for several weeks in the fridge. I put it in a canning jar, place plastic wrap on the RI to prevent crusting on the surface. Then put the rubber seal on and screw the top on well. HTH |

| I've used a lot of ribbon on fondant with no problems at all. I've held the ends with pins, hot glue (careful, satin ribbon will melt), and tape. Ribbon can be very elegant, go for it. |
