This is the recipe I use. The recipe IS soft and I don't use it to decorate. I'm wondering what would happen if you used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening. Other than that....sorry....I don't know.

You could try adding a teeny tiny dot of purple food gel to it. As it is opposite on the color wheel from "yellow" it may make it a little whiter!

You can re-melt isomalt so unless it became cloudy from the humidity you can re use it. I think it's the humidity. Humidity is the culprit in a lot of sugar mishaps!

Use gold luster dust and mix with either lemon extract OR alcohol. It should be a "paint" consistency. Then just paint on the mold.

I use white chocolate pudding in buttercream all the time. Only use about 2 tablespoons in a 3 cup recipe and it won't be gritty.
