Do you use shortening or powdered sugar? Shortening makes is greasy and droopy; I cannot get the hang of fondant! Sad

I have not used them yet (nervous) but I seem to read a lot that you use an electric pencil sharpener and push them right through. Hope this helps!

I am making my flowers half fondant and half gum paste, but I find after about a week they are hard and snap pretty quickly. Any storage ideas?
