I did a 3D beer mug using 4 six inch rounds. I torted and filled each cake too.
I put a cake board under the 2nd tier and dowels to support that from the 3rd to the bottom tier. Worked ... |

I have a friend who owns a cake shop in Mesa, AZ who was also chosen for the Best Of issue. She had no idea how she was chosen but it sounds awesome.

It helps a lot not to use butter in the RKT when you're molding them. If it's still too sticky it sounds like you have too much marshmallow and not enough rice krispies.

I covered my RKT in royal icing first to help cover all the little nooks and crannies. You could try melted chocolate too.
