Friday Faves: Hearts, Hens and Hedgehogs

Pink sugar roses and cute gumpaste kittens; vintage tea parties and warm scents from the kitchen; three-layer cakes covered in buttercream: these are a few of our favorite things!

As editors of Cake Central magazine, we come across so many awesome, inspiring things while working. From users to cake creations to wedding inspiration to cool new products, we want to share a few of our favorite finds with you every week.

Valentine's Day Cupcakes

What’s not love about these darling “LOVE” cupcakes? by mmmcake0072.

New Mexico Cake
I absolutely adore this New Mexico inspired cake by cobutterfly. The color choices, and modern chevron pattern make this cake a classic, but the turquoise jewelry, succulents and python band are what really make it special and uniquely capture the southwestern style in a modern and sophisticated way.

Baby Shower Cake
I love the design of this baby shower cake by tjkern1! The colors are great and I love all the creative button details.

Hen Cupcakes
What a cute idea for a hen night from pellegrinoso! Each cupcake design is so original and fun, and I love the hand-painted hens.

Valentine's Cookies

These Valentine’s Day cookies by Smash_Cakery are romantic and fun. The designs are simple but eye-catching— no better way to say “I love you” than pretty piping!

Woodland Baby Shower
Isn’t this the cutest? The woodland creatures on tamimisha’s baby shower cake are beyond adorable. I love that she used a terrarium for a cake stand, creating a wonderful, unified look.

Grease
Bonnelope’s Grease themed birthday cake pulls together a perfect combination of iconic images from the movie. Using the car as a cake topper was a great choice, and the finished look is delightfully playful.

AT-AT Walker
Ideasinicing’s groom’s cake and wedding cake combination is the right balance of humor and nerdiness. I love the detail on the AT-AT Walker and the way the scene spills over onto the more traditional wedding cake.
