Pink sugar roses and cute gumpaste kittens; vintage tea parties and warm scents from the kitchen; three-layer cakes covered in buttercream: these are a few of our favorite things!
As editors of Cake Central magazine, we come across so many awesome, inspiring things while working. From users to cake creations to wedding inspiration to cool new products, we want to share a few of our favorite finds with you every week.
This week, we’re playing catch-up, so here are our faves of the last two weeks:
Birds, hearts, roses and fondant swags all come together to make this darling cake from sillybakery. I am particularly enjoying the scallops and roses pattern, along with the striped gumpaste bow on the top tier.
A circus-themed cake that isn’t over-the-top is a hard thing to pull off, but SugaredSaffron created a lovely cake that is both whimsical and sophisticated.
I love everything about this baby shower cake by EricaObrienCake. The hand-cut animals and stylized flowers have a clean retro look and are just adorable.
The hand painted flower on this cake by jazzstar is fantastic, and I love the buttons!
My favorite thing about this rustic bridal shower cake by Ann-Jannae is the color of those flowers. It’s a vibrant dusty pink that goes perfectly with the bark and twigs.
This painted wedding cake by BarneysBakery is so beautiful. I love the hand painting, the floral pattern and the lacy detail.
How precious are these Peppa Pig cookies by Ciasteczkazdusza? They are just as charming as the children’s TV show they’re based on… which the editorial team may or may not have watched for “research” after seeing these cookies.
This three-tier wedding cake from bakermamacakes is just stunning, with a gorgeous color palette and beautiful sugar flowers. Its soft colors and cascading flowers are perfect for today’s trends!
I am a sucker for anything owl-related, and this little family of birds from mel1204 is just the cutest! Plus, I love the winter details, like the snowy branch they’re perched on.
This colorful cake by Vale_Ntina is perfectly feminine without being overly girly. Her photos are incredibly useful and fascinating, too. She included pictures of the whole process of making her cake.
I adore this cute little hobbit house by ConnieJ. I would have loved getting a cake like this for my birthday when I was a little kid. The Lego hobbit is a nice playful touch to a well made cake.
A suitcase shaped cake for a retirement is such a clever idea, and this cake by caketopia is beyond cute. It makes me wish for a vacation somewhere warm and sunny!
I can’t help but smile when I look at this Mario themed cake by eventsbynisa because it reminds me of how much fun I have at the arcade with my friends. I love all of the details from the game that the cake includes.
They are all wonderful cakes! Good choices!!!
