Dear Cake Central Magazine Reader,

I wanted to take the time to apologize to you all for the ongoing delays with the delivery of the October/November issue (Volume 1 Issue 7) of the magazine. As well, I would like to update you on the status and plan moving forward.

I know that you are frustrated that you have not received your magazine and rightfully would like to know why. The length of the delay is unacceptable, and we appreciate your understanding and support during these difficult couple of months.

We have given expected shipping dates before, and those dates did pass without the magazine shipping. I understand when that happens it may look like we are just giving dates to appease you, but I promise you we are not. Anytime we have given a date, it is because we had information that led us to believe the date would be accurate.

In no defense of the mistakes we made that contributed to this delay, I would like to offer some insight into the process for each issue of the magazine, and how we got the dates wrong. Putting out the magazine each month requires coordination between multiple companies, including Cake Central, the layout designer, the printing company, the bindery, the mail house, and the fulfillment staff. Consequently, there are several points along the way where glitches can come into the picture, and many of those steps we cannot directly control, fix, or change in the middle of production. Up until now things have been relatively smooth, with the exception of some postal service errors. With this most recent issue, we have run into various challenges at multiple points in the process which have each caused independent delays. We are working collaboratively with all of these companies and have identified and are working to resolve these errors in order to avoid these same challenges in the future

The October/November issue (Volume 1 Issue 7) has been printed, bound, and is being processed and shipped from the mail house. Most retailers that stock the magazine have received their inventory, and the subscriber copies arrived at the mail house at the beginning of the month. The vast length of the delay is inexcusable, and it is equally frustrating and disappointing for us as it is for you. We are dedicated to putting out the best magazine we can, the magazine this industry deserves, and we sincerely empathize when it is not delivered on time.

I know that you would have appreciated more communication than we provided, and we will do our best to increase the level of communication. Sometimes, we simply don\’t have anything new to explain, or we are not confident what expectation to set at that time, therefore we wait to make sure that what we do say is accurate.

In order to get back on track with the appropriate schedule, the next issue released will be Volume 2 Issue 1. We are converting from a monthly naming format to a numerical format. The plan is that you will receive Volume 2 Issue 1 in February. The layout designer is nearly done with the magazine, and then it will be off to the printer.

We are still targeting a new issue to be released every 30 to 45 days. We will post announcements when each issue is released so that you will know to be checking the mail for it.

You will receive the number of issues you paid for, we did not print a magazine in December, and this will not deduct from your subscription.

We are also in the preliminary stages of making the magazine available digitally in addition to print. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to access all the information Cake Central Magazine has to offer in your preferred format.

Cake Central has always been dedicated to making cake decorating, and the cake community, accessible to everyone in the world who wants to be a part of it. We take great pride in doing things that help advance the industry in some way.

I am really sorry that we have let you down, and I promise you we are working hard to get everything back on schedule in order to continue delivering a great cake magazine.
