  1. Wow, the best cupcake I’ve ever had was the chili mango cupcake from My Delight Cupcakery in Ontario Inland Empire. This girl can come up with mostly any flavor she can think of. Every week she comes up with a new flavor of the week not including the holiday themes n flavors. I’m a fan of sweet n salty anything, but chili was the top of the hat. Can’t wait for Cinco de Mayo, that’s when she comes out with many Mexican flavors including the chili mango. So far I haven’t tasted a cupcake as good as that one. : )

  2. I like the classic chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing! It’s always a hit, and with the recipe I use, it is always SUPER moist!

  3. Tate’s Bakery, Southampton, N.Y.

I am not a chocolate fan, but since they were out of there wonderful vanilla cupcakes I tried the chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing….it was delicious and moist.

  4. Maple Bacon at Twisted Sifter in Danville, KY! Just more proof that bacon can make anything better, even cupcakes!

  5. Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery in NYC’s lower East Side. Although the Magnolia Bakery is credited with starting the whole cupcake craze about 12-13 years ago, I always thought that their cupcakes were overrated. I love Sugar Sweet Sunshine.

For the most part, I am just shocked at how many cupcake shops are still popping up this many years after the craze started (I have four within a twenty minute drive of me). I can’t imagine how they make money selling only cupcakes! With Magnolia Bakery, cupcakes were only one of many things they do.

  6. The best cupcake I’ve ever eaten was made by Swirlz Cupcakery. Chocolate Cherry! YUM! There are only 2 cupcake shops in my neck of the woods..and you have to drive 20-30 miles to get to them. There is a Nadia Cakes opening up in my hometown in July though.

  7. The best cupcakes I ever tasted are made by my husband, Greg, baker at the former Draconis Coffee Shop. He whips the batter full of air and the cupcakes are heavenly, fluffy, light and airy, no matter what flavor, but my favorite is coconut with HIS buttercream frosting.

  8. I honestly haven’t eaten enough cupcakes because I can’t name one that was so super good. All of the cupcakes I’ve had were average. I need to get out more..lol

  9. Chocolate with nutella filling and chocolate icing :)
NancyP13, can you post your recipe for chocolate cupcakes? mine always come out drier than I’d like. Thanks!

  10. Best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted was Heavenly Frostings Red Velvet cupcakes! They are THE best! They tasted just like what I grew up with in the South. The cake is so moist and the cream cheese frosting is to die for. They also have these amazing Carrot cupcakes smothered with cream cheese. You know it’s made from scratch because you can taste the carrots and the nuts without overpowering the taste of the cake. I also had to order their Godiva Espresso Almond Liqueur (so chocolatey, made from dark, dark chocolate) and the Vanilla cupcakes topped with creamy whipped frosting. I really love ordering from http://www.HeavenlyFrostings.com even though they’re a bit far from me because of their great taste.Whenever y’all are in LA, check them out. I think they’re an online bakeshop but they are working on getting a shop opened. Can’t wait to try their other flavors. Yumm!
