Paleo Chocolate Cake

Posted by Teresa_Cakes My Paleo best friend found this recipe and it rose nicely and was dense in texture. The Vegan Chocolate Frosting was so good I could not keep my family away from it. The trick to the icing is letting it get really really cold and thick in the freezer before whipping. Then it frosts nicely but streaks unless the cake is room temperature. Don't frost if your cake is frozen or cold. Once the cake is iced and smoothed then you can refrigerate it or let it sit out for a day until the event. It was a big big hit at the birthday party and guilt... read more

Delicious Moist Chocolate Cake (eggless)

Posted by Debbye27 This is my go to recipe for chocolate cake, it is very moist, extremely tasty, and has never failed me- I use this for stacking, fondant, sculpting, and it is even egg-less! It does not have a coffee taste to it- the coffee brings out the chocolate flavor- and this recipe uses only two bowls, no mixers needed! Enjoy… Ingredients: AmountIngredient1 1/2 cupflour1 1/2 cupcake flour1/2 cupunsweetened cocoa powder2 tspbaking soda1 tspsalt2 cups hot water3/4 cups vegetable oil2 tbspdistilled white vinegar1 tbspinstant coffee 1 tbspvanilla ... read more

Old Fashioned Sour cream fudge cake

Posted by cakesrock I had this a couple of times at my son's friend's b-day parties. His Mom was happy to share the recipe with me and all of you CC'ers. It is really moist and tasty (must be the brown sugar). Wouldn't use it for major carving jobs and do freeze it for 30 mins before you trim or carve something flat. Do not squish down to flatten with a cake board (as you can do for WASC or other cakes). This will compress the cake and make it very gooey. You need to trim the hump. Frosting is optional, but it's also good if you choose to use... read more

Wacky Cake

  • by Tails

Posted by Tails This recipe was reportedly created in the Great Depression and has NO eggs and butter! This was because eggs and butter were expensive and rationed thus this cake was born. Despite the lack of these ingredients, this cake is super moist, light but rich in flavour, and very fluffy! The original recipe I found was for cupcakes, but the blogger did convert to cake as well: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/super_easy_super_moist_chocolate_cupcakes/ Ingredients * 3 cups all purpose flour * 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder * 2 cups... read more
